Join us Tuesday at 10 AM with our Watershed Coordinator, Sarah MacDonald, and three guest speakers for a conversation about riparian areas in the Pembina River Watershed! This is event is open to the public and is free to join.

The Athabasca Watershed Council has been working to increase watershed resilience through riparian habitat assessment, education, restoration, and conservation. Three speakers will present their work on riparian areas including:

  • Shari Clare with Fiera Biological Consulting will be showcasing her work on the Riparian Area Assessment of the Pembina River Watershed.
  • Mary Ellen Shain with North Saskatchewan Watershed Alliance will be discussing the Riparian Web Portal that was designed to support Albertans build healthier riparian areas.
  • Lisa Card with Highway 2 Conservation will be presenting her work on-the-ground with landowners in the Pembina River Watershed.
