Athabasca Watershed Council Executive Director Opening

The Athabasca Watershed Council (AWC) is currently seeking applications for the position of Executive Director. This full-time position is based in our office in Athabasca, Alberta.

Suitable candidates will have a post-secondary degree or diploma in an environmental field, business management or equivalency. The candidate should have significant experience working with multi-stakeholder groups, board governance, project management, financial, human resource management, proven fund-raising capacities, a high level of communication and social skills and be able to carry out community outreach and educational programming. Significant travel and irregular hours of work are required.

Established in 2009, the Athabasca Watershed Council is a not-for-profit organization, Canadian registered charity and a designated Watershed Planning and Advisory Council (WPAC) that works in partnership with the Government of Alberta to achieve the goals outlined in the Provincial Government’s Water for Life Strategy.

The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000 per year depending on qualifications and experience.
