The AWC-WPAC is seeking applications for the following positions:

Executive Director

The Athabasca Watershed Council (AWC) is seeking applications for the newly established position of Executive Director.  This full-time position is based in our office in Athabasca, Alberta.  Suitable candidates would live in the Athabasca area, have a post-secondary degree or diploma (a degree or diploma in sciences or an environmental field is desirable; related experience and education may be accepted as equivalent), significant experience working with multi-stakeholder groups and boards, proven project management and financial management skills, human resource management experience, proven fund-raising capacities, a high level of communication skills, and be motivated to carry out community outreach and educational programming.  Significant travel and irregular hours of work are required. 

Established in 2009, the Athabasca Watershed Council is a not-for-profit organization and a designated Watershed Planning and Advisory Council (WPAC) that works in partnership with the Government of Alberta to achieve the goals outlined in the Provincial Government’s Water for Life Strategy.

The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000 per year depending on qualifications and experience.
